If you’ve dreamed of making a movie in a weekend or have been a part of 72 Film Fest in the past, this year is gonna be full of Year 20 celebrations!
Each year 72 Film Fest challenges filmmaking teams to make a film in a weekend around a particular theme. What will this year be? Well we’re keeping it secret until the Launch Party. But in the past it has ranged from things like “Fairy Tales”, “First Lines of Books”, “Fears and Superstitions” and last year’s fan favorite “Obstructions”, which gave teams a filmmaking hurdle to overcome while making their films.
This year marks two decades of filmmakers racing the clock to create something unforgettable. To celebrate Year 20, we’re going bigger than ever — and for the first time, we’re going national.
Local(ish) teams will premiere their films live at the iconic Weinberg Center in Frederick, while out-of-town teams will compete in a separate category and have their films showcased online for the world to see.
That’s right — no matter where you live, you can be part of the madness. Year 20 is open to everyone. So grab your camera, rally your crew, and join the filmmaking frenzy that is Weekend Filmmaking!
So many amazingly talented folks come out every year to show us what they can do… and this year we got something super fun planned.
We can’t wait to see you at the Weinberg Center (or online!).
Dates:
